    I had one puttering about in my garden last week. I went out to watch it – they’re rather fearless and don’t tend to run away, just ignored me completely. But I could hear it chomping through snail shells. I never knew they’d bite through the shells to eat snails – I thought they’d just go for worms and slugs, you know easy pickings. It was quite disgusting to listen to and I went back inside, so I’m not surprised to see the sharp teeth that bite through snail shells all night.
