Over at Daily Kos, I’ve posted a diary on the Safe Food Act. If you’re not a Kossack, you won’t be able to give me a recommendation. But a few of you are Kossacks.
The rest of you — well, it wouldn’t hurt to edumacate yourselves about the food supply.

Oh geez…another government agency. Why not just consolidate them all into an existing agency? Like the Food and Drug Administration? Of the USDA?? We don’t need more agenies, we just need the existing ones to be better funded, staffed, efficient, etc.
And E. Coli isn’t much of a concern for me in beef – I like my meat cooked well enough that it reaches the appropriate temps to kill it.
The trouble is that there are too many agencies with authority now, and no one agrees who has jurisdiction over what. It’s an administrative mess. If anything, this legislation should eliminate a good deal of bureaucracy, rather than the opposite.
I’m around this evening, if you’re still interested. Got to put the youngest to bed in a minute, but then I’m clear.
Now that’s unfair! I was here, I read stuff, pimped Kate’s contest and then left because I done reading your blog. Then obviously after I’d gone you invite all and sundry to a live blogging session and I Missed Out Again!
