Today, Dean posted his XLth (40th, to you non-Romans) Flickr babe, and mentioned how he thought about finding an XL babe, but gave us the usual svelte wonder instead. Not that I object to svelte wonders, but surely there are some nude XL babes over at Flickr.

I made La Puttanesca recipe which I listed yesterday. WOW. I used twice the recommended amount of red pepper flakes, which made it spicy enough for Karen and Jake. I would have liked it a bit spicier still. I used the full complement of garlic . . . definitely the right thing to do.

I Was Tortured By the Pygmy Love Queen is definitely for me*. I must know more! From the Amazon page, I see this one is published by Fem Fist books. Well, that sounds promising. Next, the write-up:

Is that better or worse, from a Political Correctness POV? She “controls” the Pygmies. That can’t be good.

I wrote a little over 2000 words today. Not bad, considering I had to take a nap mid-way through.
The muse keeps giving me little hints as to what is yet to come. Not much, but enough that I know that she knows what she’s doing. I wonder if she has something other than Scheherezade in mind? I see intimations of that altered path . . . other characters and subplots yammering for attention. This may not be 1001 Nights after all.

Stormy weather

Rough weather here in the Pacific Northwest, although you would think (from that Reuters article, for example) the storms stop magically at the Oregon border. Sorry, no. Our house is getting blown to hell and back. At least we haven’t lost power . . . yet.
Power was out in Crescent City from about 2 AM to noon. That’s where I work, on the California side of the border. You wouldn’t think an ENT could do much without power, but you’d be wrong. I can’t clean ear wax and I can’t use my fiberoptic scope, but I can do just about everything else. I was able to see a few patients before the shit hit the fan this morning.
I can’t reveal details, of course, but this particular medical crisis required my staff and me to go to a patient’s home (the phones were down), go to another doctor’s office so that I could use my fiberoptic scope (the other doc has a generator, I don’t), then to the ER so that I could arrange for my patient to be flown to Portland. We got very, very lucky — hit a clear window amidst all the bad weather. My patient arrived safely in Portland after a remarkably smooth flight.
What a week.
