Where’s the basement?

Bush hits 29% in new Harris Poll, and that’s before the latest bad news on domestic spying — you know, the fact the bastards are sniffing their way through millions of American phone records.

“Domestic data mining” — aw, come on. Call it what it is: domestic spying.

Don’t worry about the government.

I can’t imagine a more boring job. Trawling through lists of phone numbers. Now, conversation transcripts – that would be a bit more interesting. Once you got through all the cold call sales lists, you may find a few adultrous affairs, threats of bodily harm because “Chuck Stole my bike!” and elderly sisters bickering about who danced with the handsome soldier back in 1944.

As a writer, it would be fodder for the imagination, a librabry of possibilities!

but really, someone else can do it, ugh.

It’s getting so I can’t read the news without wanting to vomit.

I nearly strangled my husband last night when he tried to tell me things “weren’t so bad” in Iraq. Turns out he was trying to reassure me in case he gets deployed, but that wasn’t what I heard. I swear, if he’d said one word about painting schools….
