Squealing balls

For all you parents with young kids (protected static, Dean, I’m talkin’ to you guys):

World of Goo

a wonderful physics game. You can download a shorter version for free, but the full length game will cost ya $20.

If Tim Burton and Danny Elfman got together to create a physics game, this is what they would make. The artwork and music are that good. Check out this review, if you like, but I have to warn you: there be spoilers here. Half the fun of World of Goo is figuring out what things do and how they interact. The video tells way too much.

We’re getting it on the Wii in the Wii online shop. So shhhh! It’s a surprise.

Thanks for the tip, this looks great!

I wonder if it’s too simplistic for my 11 year old. (He likes that kinda thing but is easily embarrassed by too easy kiddie stuff)

I can’t find it for the wii, lyvvie. Any links?

Kate, it’s NOT too simplistic for my 13-year-old son, nor for my wife or me. We all love it. It’s a blast.

  6. The Boy was talking about this at dinner a couple of nights ago (one of his friends told him about it), and we hadn’t the slightest idea what he was going on about. This being fairly common with dinner conversation, we nodded and made politely interested noises, so thanks for the pointer!

so will you get it for him? Best 20 bucks you ever spent for him, I’ll bet. Cuz YOU will get to play with it, too!
