No, this doesn’t have much in common with Degas’s painting, but it reminded me of it just the same. Probably nothing more going on than the woman, her drink, and the green tones.

I had another “working weekend.” Didn’t even come close to opening up my word processor (not for creative writing purposes, anyway).

How are your writing projects coming along?

Well, I put my first animation on YouTube (now showing on my blog), and that’s somewhat related to a writing project. That’s about as close as I’ve come to any of my writing projects in a long time.

Well, I sent in an entry last night to “the Flasher” flash fiction competition that my daughter’s running. It’s not really a serious entry, though. It hasn’t been published yet.

This month the entry must be in the form of a letter of 500 words or less. That’s it.

I’ve been planning out my 1,000,000,000 AD storyline, mostly in my head. And I’ve been working half-assedly on a 10,000-word story that might be the darkest thing I’ve ever written to date.

i went to the library for over 5 hours tonight and wrote a paper for Jewish Law about the obligations of a wife to her husband in the Mishnah. does that count? 🙂

  5. The SQL code I’ve been writing (and rewriting and rewriting and…) sucks, and continues to suck apace. From a code perspective, it’s been doggerel of the worst order; does that count?
