More procrastination

I need to catch up on my Tangent review responsibilities today. So what am I doing? Catching up on Jurassic Pork’s activities. Yesterday, he posted Maureen Dowd’s latest, and for Sunday brunch, he gives us a fine Assclowns of the Week. I learned something new regarding Wenyi Wang’s protest, something chilling. Here’s JP:

Of course, the CNN story doesn’t explain the reason for Dr. Wang’s protest, which is organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners while they’re still alive. So, while CNN effectively gagged her by not mentioning the need for the doctor’s protest, what’s even more telling is that a cameraman actually pulled a sign from her hands and literally gagged her by putting his hand over her mouth.

So much for the “liberal media.”

And Dr. Wang’s brief but memorable protest, on the White House lawn and just feet away from both Hu and Bush, automatically forced into light a horrifying story that, until now, had been virtually ignored by the mainstream media (and still is, as I’ve just demonstrated).

Yeesh. Remember Pogo? We have met the enemy . . .

By the way, I see that, after a long and inexplicable absence, Double Plus Mal is back. I think she’s hawt.

D.

PS: Leg of lamb tonight, with focaccia and asparagus. I might do a little radicchio and goat cheese salad, too, if I’m feeling motivated.

For the lamb, I had Karen bone it (you’d think a surgeon could bone a leg of lamb, wouldn’t you? But hey, I’m not an orthopod!) Then I rubbed it with lemon, sprinkled it with salt and pepper, trussed it up, and marinated it overnight in . . . well, let’s see how it turns out, and if it’s good, I’ll let you know.

Great procrastinating. I’m chagrined. My procrastinating isn’t nearly as intellectual. But I did run across something that made me think of you: this book cover. I’m thinking you need one for your office.

Good God, Darla, how did you find that?

Cherries. They were looking for something to cover up mantitty.

    Thanks for the heads-up, Doug.

I was on Mike’s Blog Roundup this morning and started getting hits like crazy, as usual, then John Amato took the link to my site down.

Why? Well, last night he’d written me telling me to stop whoring my blog except on the one open thread that C&L typically has. I said that when I do publicize my blog on his site, I get a lot of hits, so quite a few people don’t have a problem with it. Then I asked him why he had one.

Next thing I know, Mike Finn writes me to say that Amato spitefully took my link down, plus he’d deleted the comment I’d left earlier this morning telling everyone of my Assclowns of the Week.

I’m getting real sick and tired of this shit from these so-called “elite” bloggers. These people take themselves waaay too seriously.

Way I look at it, it’s their blog, they can do whatever the hell they like. For our part, we can direct our traffic accordingly. See: Firedoglake. It’s not much, but it’s all we have.

You can whore all you like here, JP, for what that’s worth.

I just have a problem with this censoring shit. I mean, they’re bloggers, for God’s sake, not the fucking Almighty. And to do something this puerile and underhanded is nothing short of despicable. I mean, Amato obviously doesn’t know how much traffic I’ve brought to his site with all the times I’ve linked to it, because not all my readers regularly go to C&L.

I’ve just had it up to here with this elitist asswipes.

Yeah, I hear you, but what can you do? Frustrating situation. I don’t suppose a polite letter pointing out the joys of reciprocity would help?
