V for Vendetta

Oh, delicious:

James Wolcott has posted his review of Alan Moore’s V for Vendetta. Check the official website for trailers.

“People should not be afraid of their government. Government should be afraid of the people.”

I’m paranoid enough to think saying this will put my name on a list somewhere, but, hot damn, I can’t wait.

I’ve only watched Trailer #1 and the Superbowl Trailer. The Superbowl Trailer was better, IMO.

  2. You and me both! My bated breath has lasted since the fall when it was supposed to have been released.

Fight the power, Walnut. It’s the only way!

I love Alan Moore’s work. The film looks to be half decent although not nearly as brilliant as Frank Miller’s Sin City.

Meh. My name’s been on a list since I worked for the defeat of Robert Bork’s nomination to the Supremes, way back in college. Come on in, Walnut, the water’s fine…

Thanks for your comments, folks. Re: the water, see post above 😉

I have to read V for Vendetta yet. I just re-read Watchmen (as in, I finished yesterday). I’d like to get hold of a copy of V before the movie comes out…

V is not as good as Watchmen, but it’s still a fine read.
