This could be interesting

In this morning’s email:

hi i am Jana Duggar.. if you have any questions at all you can email me at bowlingqueen1@aol.com!!
I only take emails with no cursing in it!
Thanks

I’ve invited her to give an interview for Balls and Walnuts. But how do I confirm she’s who she says she is? (There is a Jana Duggar — I confirmed that much.) Or does it even matter? It could be fun either way.

You may leave suggestions for questions in the comments. And keep it respectful, people. I only want questions with no cursing in it.

wow, there is so much i want to ask that girl, but i cant think how to phrase it, exactly. stuff like, what are they taught about other religions? does she ever wonder what other children are like? has she ever been to a city? does she resent wearing those fugly dresses?
cant wait to hear what she says…

Any relation to Michelle? Is Snape creaming himself over the prospect? What if “Jana” is really Michelle offering her services after reading Balls and Walnuts….

How about… Do your parents know you have posted your email address? Have your parents asked your permission to expose your personal details to the whole world? Have they taught you how to handle the negative, cruel, and/or perverted attention that may come your way? Have they taught you about “…wolves in sheeps’ clothing”?

I’m a Walnut fan, but think your attacks on the Duggar family is puzzling.

Surely, with such a large family, you’ve ran into bathroom problems. Do you have a good trick for unclogging bathtub drains? Who puts fresh toilet paper on the roll when it runs out? How often do you change toothbrushes? Are there arguments over shampoo use or toothpaste tubes and, if so, how are they resolved? How many blow driers are in your house? Is everyone responsible for the cleanliness of their own toilet or is that mom’s job? Do you have any bidets? If your sister got some really cool hair gel, can you just use it if you want or do you have to ask her permission? Do you have an ‘open door’ bathroom house or does everyone lock the door when they’re using the facilities?

Lyvvie, tam, questions noted. But it’s morning now, and she hasn’t written me back. Perhaps her parents did figure out what she was up to.

NC, the Duggars have held themselves up to the public eye over the course of at least three television specials. Doubtless they were well compensated for these ‘documentaries’ — I believe in one case, the network helped pay for the new house they were building. If you look into their childrearing practices, you’ll learn that the youngest kids, as soon as they are weaned, are turned over to the next-to-youngest kids for their care.

I feel a great deal of empathy for the Duggar children. It’s the Duggar parents who offend me. They’ve robbed their children of anything remotely resembling a normal childhood. That’s their business, of course — we live in a country which treats children as chattel and childrens’ rights as vastly inferior to parental rights — but when, for profit, they hold themselves up to the public eye in a series of “Aw, shucks, gee whiz ain’t it great!” documentaries, they have to expect a certain amount of criticism.

It’s not me, Doug (I like lots of cursing 🙂

I saw the documentaries advertised over here not so long back (though I must admit I missed them), so I guess worldwide coverage has made them a quid or two.

what happens if one of the kids decides she (or he) is feeling rebellious?

I’m thinking the way my kids carry on and kvetch, if they tried that in the Duggar family they’d be out on their ear. So do kids just swallow any anger at parents or doubts about god? Or talk about them entirely truthfully? Or talk to each other? Or just never have any doubts or anger?

and not that anyone asked or cares, but I’m not complaining about my kiddies for once. I love the fact that they think and question authority all the dang time. I’d hate having compliant kids. They’d worry me.

The Duggar family inspires me quite a bit. I mean, yes they have 16 children, but look at how much patience they have with all their children, especially the little ones. More power to them! If the Lord decided that this is the lifestyle for them to live, so be it. It’s not our place to judge each other. Like the bible says “Judge not les ye be judged” and “He without sin casts the first stone”. Let the family live in peace. They are doing God’s work upon Earth. They are truly blessed with a wonderful family and I hope to see more documentaries about them in the future. God Bless Duggar Family!

  10. […] Ah, where to begin. How about the fact that that particular post, aside from poking a little fun at a poorly worded email (supposedly from Jana Duggar), hardly threw “the first stone,” nor was it the least bit judgmental. But I’m more interested in Stefanie’s assertion that the Duggars are doing God’s work upon Earth. […]
